Hi All!
I'm fairly new so bear with me! I've checked on the search function and couldn't see what I wanted so hoping for some good advice! I have had my K3 for about 3 months and I'm already wanting to fettle with her. I am hopefully going to get a few track days in this year so want to get it running and looking well! I've already e-mailed Gareth at Reactive suspension in York to help sort the suspension. I am looking to upgrade the brakes on my bike and would like a sounding board for my ideas! I am going to upgade to braided hoses and change the fluid. I have seen some Goodridge hoses. What are the opinions on these...are there better ones available? I would like to upgrade the discs at the same time. Any advice on which ones to go for? I really fancy some Wavy ones (they look cool!) but have heard mixed reviews about performance. I have again seen some Armstrong ones on E-Bay. Anybody know anything about them? In addition to this I want new pads to complete the set up. Any suggestions on which to get? Really the best possible for a reasonable price! I know its alot of questions and they are fairly subjective but the more advice the better! Thankyou Tony |

Are they expensive? Easy to get hold of? I thought the speedo doesn't work with it though?

Welcome to the org. An intro post in Idle Banter section is welcomed for new members.
On to your questions: Goodridge hoses are decent, but get the ones with stainless steel fittings. The cheaper zinc coated are a false economy. (HEL are an alternative supplier, although they seem to have a tendency to supply overlong hoses unless you give actual measurements.) Also, I would fit a two full length hose setup at the front and ditch the splitter and over the mudguard arrangement. You'll need a double banjo at the master cylinder for this. IMHO, wavy discs won't give a performance improvement with the standard calipers. The money would be better spent on top quality suspension upgrades (rear shock & front springs/re-valve). Just get some HH pads fitted for now. EBC have a good general reputatation, although I can't speak specifically for SVs on this occassion

I recomend goodridge lines in race set up (2front both from master cyclinder down to calipers and 1 rear) as said stainless fittins (although i was tight and went with zinc)
OEM disks should be fine and if your pads have plenty of meat on them, leave them be, or upgrade to something like EBC HH sintered (which i have on the front of my k3) and EBC disks (maybe they do an equivalent to go with the pads idk) Also a caliper overhaul maybe a good idea, new seals (new pistons f you want or just clean up the current ones) and a good clean up in side the cyclinders, check slider slining freely (done mine on sunday tbh i havent noticed to much of a difference but i do have less lever travel now and i found out my LH caliper slider had siezed!) Suspension im sure other people will recommend stuff but ive just been reading guides on how to set up the preload properly and tbh ive noticed a bit of a difference. |

If your hose kit is two line on the front it should come with the double banjo. If you have ordered a three line kit then it will be a normal banjo.

I've ordered the 2 line kit and a seperate rear. i've decided to leave the discs for now and see what difference that makes to the feel. I just need to find somewhere to fit them. I'd love to get it all done before riding down to Goodwood! Hopefully the suspension will be sorted by then too!
