Default Just accept you're wrong!

I'm increasingly saddened by the selfish attitudes of the road users I encounter on a daily basis. No matter how stupid they are they will always blame near misses on the innocent party and when a biker does it to you it paints us all in such a bad light.

Turning left out of a side road onto the A40 last night (in the car) I looked about me properly and pulled out. The junction is just beyond a blind bend of a multi-lane bit of the carriageway near the town centre and often quite busy, so you have to be careful. I'm half way out when a HD rider flies round the corner in to view and makes a huge fuss about slowing down to a sensible speed before pulling along side me to swear and gesticulate before cutting me up and brake testing me. Of course he then sees red as I move to the offside lane to turn right at the next lights and pass him. Cue ridiculous filtering and more gesticulations before he aims a swipe at my door mirror in passing (I had stopped in a queue - he missed) and roared off, causing two other cars to swerve out of his way.

If you drive/ride like a tw*t and nearly cause an accident why oh why oh why can't anyone just admit the mistake and carry on?!?!?!?!

I've seen similar, cars pull out and a bike is going too fast for the road, and then the rider will make out that it's the car drivers fault. I also have to take avoiding action for cars and vans that don't signal their intentions and just manoevre into lanes without indicating - I personally believe road users are getting more and more impatient and rude.

Aye if you're going to fast for the road and some poor cager pulls out you have to hold your hands up and accept some of the blame like. Most people arent expecting things to move that fast

There are a certain percentage of motorcylists who automatically give blame to cage drivers as a matter of course. Regardless of circumstance. These are the ones that generally give the biker population a bad name.

I confess to often filtering too fast, and for this reason if a car changes lane and I have to brake hard I give no gesture of agression towards the driver as it was me going too fast that caused it anyway. tbh I often appolgoise after I've passed them in this situation, to acknowlage my responisbilty.

That isnt to say that on occasion car driver pull out when Im near enough along side causeing major swerving and braking followed by much shouting and flailing of arms made worse when the car driver then retorts with "its not my fault I didnt see you"... YES PAL IT F***ING IS!

Good topic

It happens more and more because in the "old days" - before Labour, you could get out and give someone a smack without getting sent to prison.

Now, no matter how bad the offenders riding/driving is, one little playfull slap and they get all premier league footballer and fall over, crying and you get arrested!

Please note, this post does not refer to anyone I know or may know, it's just my rambling opinion.
