Default Firefox new tab

When you open a new tab in Firefox, How do you change the 'home' page i.e. the search engine you use?
I think an AVG update has changed it to yahoo & it's b*gging the h*** out of me I want Google

I know Tools / options / Home page - but it's not that

Sorry, bit of a lame request this I know but hopefully you can help

If I go "File" then "New Tab" it just opens up as (Untitled). Do you mean that yours opens as yahoo?
If I click on the Home page button with the middle mouse button, it opens a new tab with my normal homepage (google)
