Default Overcharging indicator from Cat 1 alarm

Switched the ignition off this morning in the works car park and got 3 short beeps from the Acumen alarm - I'm told by the (excellent) support at Acumen that this could be either an older alarm, which is sensitive to Suzuki charging voltages (apparently they are a bit higher than other Jap bikes) or it could be that my bike is indeed producing higher voltage than necessary. I'm assuming that higher voltage could be a sign of the regulator/rectifier packing up, any ideas?
