Well Dunlop RoadSmarts held up to a trackday on my Z750 (wider rear tyre, but heavier bike) with 32C air and 50C surface temps, never gave an issue then, and never given me an issue on the road.

In saying that my SV has Pilot Road 2's on at the moment, and I liked them (haven't ridden on them in 18 months), and I believe thats what Captainsmelly put on his curvy on Sat, might be worth PMing him, but I think he's happy with them.

The other popular one is the Avon Storm ST, again, a dual compound tyre, were also good on the Zed.

Not much help I know, but then there are very few bad tyres out there, the 3 listed are sports-touring so a good mix of grip with life-span.

I'm 3000 miles into a set of Pilot Road 2CT's, they seem to be holding up well and are certainly better than the stock Dunlop's.

I found the sportmax's almost as good as the avon storms (which are the mutt's), really sticky tyre. Wearing wasn't too bad but the front wore at the same rate as the rear which was an added expense, wet grip wasn't brilliant but was okay. Avon storms are definite improvement though.

Got the Dunlop qualifiers on the gladius seem to be wearing quite well at 3000 ,front seems to be wearing on sides ,wet grip seemed ok on damp roads, would get them again but will be qualifier 2s
