Fitting an exhaust.

Hi,

What do I need to fit an exhaust? doI need any exhaust gum etc?

How much exhaust you fitting, the header pipes and everything, or just a CAN on to a set of cut down header pipe?
What exhaust you planning on fitting and why do you need a new one?

I'm fitting an ART can and back pipe, I know on a car need gum but a bike??

I knew it was only a matter of time till this thred was made...lol

if your fitting a can you need a 4" grinder (or hacksaw if cheapskate), link pipe, clamps and strap.

If your changing pipes then it's fun and games. You could be lucky and all the bolts come straight out, on the other hand it could be a pig and you need to helicoil stuff.

Yep the Art can's are normally slippons I don't recall them doing full systems, so as mentioned you will need to cut the old can off. If your a bit paranoid about this then maybe someone local can help, where are you?

I have another back piece to replace the orignal can and back pipe so no need to cut, all bolts came off ok but should I use gum when fitting the ART can and spare back pipe?

No need for Gum, I always use the cheapest clear silicone sealant I can get from B&Q - works a treat.
