Default Loose nut? Or should it be like this?

Ive had my 2004 SV650s for a few weeks now. Just got back from a ride and noticed a nut and a sort of nut shaped washer spinning round (mainly when I rev the engine). If you look through the frame from the left hand side the spinning nut is above where the throttle cable runs to above the front cylinder (towards the top of the frame though). I tried tightening it but it didnt seem to tighten at all!

Any ideas?

When you say 'spinning around' do you mean it actually spins, or just turns back and forth a fraction of a turn?
I suspect what you're seeing is the throttle quadrant, or possibly the secondary throttle actuator.
That being so then no, nothing is amiss.

It turns one way, then another, and it seems like it is turning more like half a turn back and forth.

Does that sound about right if it is the throttle quadrant or the secondary throttle actuator? Why does it turn?

Ive just twisted the throttle with the engine switched off and the nut doesnt turn, but obviously I can see the throttle cable moving a bit lower down etc.

I don't know but post a new thread in talk tuning and tweaking section with the photo and you may get more folk with the necessary knowledge looking at the thread.
