Default 09 Sport questions

HI Everyone!! This is my first post, as i have just ordered a new 09 SV650 Sport which i get on Saturday (cant wait!!!)

As i guess everyone does, i am now looking at buying the 'essentials'. I have already ordered a fender extender, and i am currently looking at the crash bungs and exhaust cans.

Can anyone make a recomendation for crash bungs? I have spent all evening searching, and the impression i am getting is motosliders is the way to go, but i dont want to modify my fairing. I have read somewhere that motosliders have released a new set which doesnt involve any cutting, anyone know if this is true, and if so where it cheapest to order them from?

Secondly, I want my SV to roar - any suggestions for a pretty cheap (less than £150ish) can which will sound deep and meaty??

If you think i have forgotten anything else let me know!!

Cheers guys (and girls!)

I bought my K9 sport a month back (but only done 50miles blame some tit in a car ).

Forget the end can atm, fit a scotoiler.

If you want an end can beowulf do some nice looking sounding ones.

Remember you've got your first service after 600miles to pay for as well!

Other than that R&G are the crash bungs i was told to get. You got a tankpad and rear hugger lined up?? The hugger doesnt have a colour match yet btw so u'd have to go 3rd party and black :P.

Welcome to the org though!

Fuel exhausts are excellent and very cheap. An end can is pretty much essential on this bike as the oe is awful, massive, heavy and hides the true character(noise) of the motor. Tidying the tail makes the bike look lovely and R&G's dont need modifications (afaik) but motosliders are meant to be best.

After that you can spend a lot on the handling (I did) and make some amazing improvements over stock. It's a great bike, enjoy! Don't run it in too softly either.

Ooo, i forgot about the first service, i probably should have tried to get it thrown in when i nogotiated on the bike - any idea roughly how much they cost? I am trying to find a rear hugger - Pyramid have told me they dont do one for the Sport yet, but I am happy to wait as bungs are probably more important.

Fuel and beowulf seem to have good reviews, hopefully i will find someone local with them fitted so i can have a listen. I am in Kent, i will have a look for a mini forum!

Cheers for your help guys - any other recomendations/suggestions greatfully received!!

1st service the parts should be free (oil and filter) should only be labour - would guess £30.

PM Dizzyblonde re motosliders she seems to have the most up to date info

Bought motosliders for my K8 sports. Fitted really easy and whilst nothing special to look at, you can just tell they will do the job as you fit them. Buy these with confidence!

No cutting necessary, buy direct from USA. About £23 import charge to add on.

Ref Exhaust; A stainless can from Carbon Can Co sound good, even with the baffle in, an' they're legal so no MOT probs.

Check them out on ebay and but direct from the manufacturer, they've usually got some on there.
