Default Removing a clip on - how?

I have an SV650 SK5, and am trying to replace the L/H clip on, was wondering if someone could advise me on the method I should undertake... (Not sure if in correct area with this)

Any help would be great

Many Thanks

Remove the cable from the lever, and the switchgear from the clipon
Loosen the clipon bolt
Loosen the 3 fork clamps
Drop the fork until you can get the clipon out.

Or something close to that.

Make sure the bike is properly supported, and I guess you'd need to take front wheel/fender off.

Off the top of my head, I think I'd just take off the top yoke. (No need to drop the wheel or undo the head bearings.)

Loosen the top clamp bolts on both sides, undo the top clap bolt and lift off (watch out for limits of ignition switch wiring etc.), then remove clip on after removing switchgear etc.

Headstock stand, take off front left caliper and slacken off the wheel spindle to lower the fork and replace.

Talking Re: Removing a clip on - how?

Thanks for the help guys! greatly appreciated!

I thought of the same way as you Ruffy but; I borrowed a headstock stand off TFA. So took off caliper and mudguard (left side), left the wheel in spindle from the right, drop the fork about two and half inches and swapped over the clipons... Clamped back up and was riding in half hour after getting out of car with stand

Thanks again!
