Default Anyone any good at decoding old radio's?

As many of you will know I recently purchased a Rover Metro and inside it still has the original radio. The problem is the code for it was lost along with the manual and as the battery was disconnected at some point it's now asking for the code. I've tried some googleflu and alot of sites will do it but at a charge and at the moment I pretty broke.

Here's a few pictures of all the markings on it:

Thanks to anyone that can do it.

Have you had a look in the manual. Have a flick through to see if you can find a four digit number hand written in there somewhere. That's where mine was in my mini.

Was once told that if you put them in the freezer, that unblocked them, but I'm not sure how true it is

Putting them in the freezer did work if you were lucky a good few years ago. I`ve sent the details to someone who should be able to sort it

Cheers, Electro.

The radio retains its code via a small internal battery when disconeccted from the main battery. To reduce the internal batt voltage to a level were it 'unlocks' the radio you need to stick it in a freezer, or open it up and short it out with a resistor. Failing that

Thanks Electro much appreciated.

I would stick it in the freezer but the aerial does not unplug, it's just one lead that goes from inside the stereo straight to the aerial outside which is a pain in the bottom.

Just rip it out and stick a cheap cd player in it.

Can pick them up on ebay of under a tenner
