60mph to a 30mph

does there have to be countdown markers, or somthing?

or is just a 30 sign enough?

Personally i think its better when they reduce it to 40 then 200 yds down the road becomes a 30. Sadly they dont seem to bother much .

Hovis, if there was a big enough sign (usually, they are a large white circle, number in black, red ring on the edge, then a yellow board extending from this) then that is enough.

I know its a PITA, but you're gonna have to man-up and take this one right on t'chin. It would be better if they reduce the road speed from 60 to 40 then down to 30, it does give you warning...but there are villages in sussex where its NSL to 30 mph, which is wise to take as a warning anyway and slow down

When I started driving, all those years ago, it was virtually unheard of for all these "you are aproaching a 30 zone" signs to be out there.

You see, they assumed people would be paying enough attention to the road and see the sign and adjust their speed without anyone holding their hands.

The above is not a pop at you btw Hovis, just the fact that standards have dropped so much that they have to lower the bar.

Point is the advanced warning is a relatively modern thing

Come on dude, that is pretty normal. You already said in your other thread you did not see the sign, so what difference would it have made if it went NSL-40-30? You were not observing the road signs properly, missed the change in speed limit and you were doing well in excess of the posted limit.

Has a NIP arrived for you yet?
