Question Can someone help my restricted SV stop stalling please?

Hello all, this is my first post so i hope someone may be able to help me.

I have a 2004 SV650 S K3, when i bought it in March i had it restricted to 33bhp because of my licence and ive been having a problem with it conking out of me.

The bike starts up fine but when its sat idleing hot or cold, after a while it sometimes stalls. It also does this when i come to a stop at a junction/traffic lights and try and knock it back into first gear to go it stalls again with me having to rev it up to 2000 revs and drop it into first to get it going again.

Its last trick a couple of times has been when ive been going at speed 70 + mph and jump up the gears accordingly it has stalled again, ive always managed to simply start it up again when im moving along luckily but it can certainly be a bit nerve racking

Does anyone have any tips for me to try and fix this? Ive thought about altering the idleing speed perhaps? and ibve thought it could be getting too little air.

Would be grateful for any tips to fix this. Nancy

What does the bike idle at? recommended 1200 - 1500 rpm, when was the last time the bike got really wet? front spark plugs commonly get wet on the SV which can cause stalling, also which restriction do you have out of intrest, ECU or FI international kit?

Sounds like a low idle speed as mentioned above.
Get back to us on that as it should fix your problem

could be your clutch not adjusted properly, would be a cause of it stalling going into 1st but then that shouldn't cause it to stall at speed, idle speed sounds the problem

Hi all, well im pleased to say raising the idle speed to 1250 seems to have solved my problem. Went for a long ride today and didnt stall once

Now just gotta fix my sticky rear brake, and indicator relay, and she will be perfect
