Default Non starting after three weeks.

The bike has been sat in my garage for 3 weeks, i havent even turned her over as ive been off work and not feeling to good. Anyway i thought i better charge her, as i have a datatool system 3 and i new it would be flat. So i chared her overnight and went to fire her up this morning, she almost caught but then died. I tried a few more times buut nothing so left her on charge and tried just now. It is weird, when i first pull in the clutch and press the ignition there is nothing at all, as though there is an electrical issue with depressing the clutch to start. Then when i try again she catches, but wont fire. It is like this each time i try.....sorry if the description is a bit vivid

Any ideas guys?

cheers

not turned mine over in almost two weeks and today she wasn't for starting-some fresh fuel and a few trys later she fired up -all be it she was poping and farting like a demon until the cobwebs were blown away-make sure the batterys got plenty juice, failing that get jump leads or booster out and see how it goes.

Cheers guys,

I went for some fresh juice, and after a few goes she started. There still seems to be an intermitent fault on the starter. Ive tried a few more times now shes starting ok, and sometimes when i pull in the clutch and go to press the ignition there is nothing there, the next time it will fire no problem. After readin a few more posts everyone seems to suggest checking the clutch switch. Sorry for sounding daft, but what is it, where is it and how do i adjust it.

thanks again

Clutch switch---There is a cut out switch wired into the clutch lever mount on the left bar.Two wires plug in under the mount if you look carefully. These form a circuit when you pull the lever in,hence allowing the starter to operate only with the clutch pulled in.If you pull the plug out,and simply connect the two wires together, you can bypass this switch. If that solves the problem then the switch in the clutch mount is faulty.

Cheers,

Think its sorted.......fingers crossed!

I took out the switch and there was a bit muc on it, so i cleaned it off then ruffed it up with a file, pushed the two copper prongs out a tad, as it seemed a touch loose. I have started the bike a good few times today since and it has started everytime

cheers
