Default Mike Perham

...has become the youngest person to sail around the world. I've been following him since he set off last November and I'm hoping to be in Portsmouth on Saturday when he comes back.

Such a terrific achievement. Well done Mike

That a brave undertaking at any age, let alone at 17

I take my hat off to people like him who achieve such things.

Portsmouth to Porlock is a bit of a step

I've followed this bloke every day since last November and what he hasn't had to contend with - 50 feet seas in the Southern Ocean which upturned the boat, unreliable autopilot, failed rudder, and recently a collision with some semi-sunken debris in the Atlantic. Gripping stuff.

Well done that man! I did read about him leaving but didn't follow him (shame on me!).
Well I'm off for a sailing weekend at Bala, so I shall raise a beer in the boat to him on Saturday!

Er - don't need the M5 to get from Shrews to Portsmouth. I was going to be in Falmouth this week but an invasion of ick green gunk germs put paid to that.
