Default domestic kitchen tap filter

Ok, the wife/daughter have complained (Nought new there) the water flow rate from the kitchen tap has dropped.

A quick check reveals there is a filter on the outflow that is blocked with crud. I have removed said crud and the flowrate has returned. But where do I source replacement filters.

It is cylindrical about 1/2" diameter, 3/8" long, metal gauze on the out and plastic gauze on the in. I guess you should be able to get them in traditional hard water areas. But we are supposed to be soft water round here, unless my authority has been getting water from where they haven't historically done.

Nope. This is the size of a camera battery and is in the end of the tap downspout.

is it not possible to clean the old one? Guessing it's mostly crusted up with limescale etc - perhaps soak it overnight in that kettle descaler formula?

Could always bin it, AFAIK it's not a filter per say and just an airator.

We've got mix and match ones at home.
