Default Endless chains

I was speaking to a suzuki main dealer today and they said that the standard sv chain doesn't come endless. That there is always a riveted link.

He also said that if you take off the swingarm (to fit an endless chain) that sometimes the chain doesn't fit past the engine. And that the engine needs to be moved slightly. Which I thought was strange because there is a few posts on here about people fitting endless chains by taking the swingarm off.

Has anyone actually bought and fitted an endless chain? If so, where did you get it?

That dealer doesn't know his **** from his elbow, my standard chain was endless, I had to grind off the heads and break the chain to get it off certainly no split link on it.

The Suzuki OEM chain is indeed endless. I've got one sat in the shed waiting to be fitted.

I've never read or heard about the engine needing to be moved, and think that is a load of nads - but the swingarm does need to be removed. An excellent chance to regrease all the bearings etc.

Sorry, forgot that bit. I managed to pick up the set (chain and sprokets) on evil bay a while ago for £45 - but I've never seen any listed since. Any Suzuki parts supplier should be able to get one in for you.

They do as standard, but maybe the part suzuki are selling now is a normal one.
