I was curious about comments in another thread about this new tyre from Dunlop. So I had a quick Google. I can't find any Dunlop website talking about this tyre (in English anyway!), but I did find this.
http://www.superbike.co.uk/products/...ws_147538.html Also MCN have a video up where they 'test' the prototype and give feedback for it's final design, yeah right! http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Ne.../?&R=EPI-92277 Does anyone know where I can find some official Dunlop blurb on this new tyre?

Just in case anyone else in interested I emailed Dunlop and got the reply below:
"Firstly let me apologise for our website. It's currently being completely rebuilt and hasn't been updated since the redesign started. The new site will also take away the glitches such as the one regarding phone numbers. Secondly, our new Roadsmart is fully tested and approved for all years of SV650, faired or unfaired. The reports from the press have been fantastic and exactly what we'd hoped for - you may also want to have a look at: http://www.bikeanimal.com/article_racing.asp?article=4946 as well as a great written reports in MCN, SuperBike, Fast Bikes and Bike. The targets we set out to achieve were best Sport Touring tyre in the following categories: mileage, wet grip, dry grip, handling and stability and by common consent we reached our goals. Yes, we may have been equal first with another tyre in one or two performance categories but no other tyre came first in each of the five categories and at the launch everyone agreed the new Roadmart has the best all-round performance of any Sport Touring tyre, and better performance than a few from the Sport tyre group! Your front size is available to order from dealers right now and the rear size will be available within the next week. Details of the sizes and our recommended pressures for your bike are: 120/60 ZR17 (55W) TL Roadsmart 160/60 ZR17 (69W) TL Roadsmart Using 2.25 bar front and 2.5 bar rear for loads up to 90kg, and 2.5 bar front and rear for loads over 90kg. Kind regards Bryn Phillips Sales & Product Support Manager Motorcycle SBU Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd"

I suspect it'll be ~£200. The new tyres always fetch a bit more for a few months.

Just looked on intobikes.com and they reckon a pair of 120/60's and 160/60's would be around the £180 mark. SO not too bad.

It's interesting to see that out of the two bikes shown, one was a red SV1000.
Keeping my eyes on this one..... Garry ![]() |

Well, i'm off tomorrow down to Newport and will be ordering a pair of these hoops and having them fitted probably Tuesday. I've been quoted £225 for both tyres, and fitting on the bike rather than just the wheels.
I shall let you guys know how i get on with them once they are on Cheers Racing Snake |

Evening all.
I fitted a pair to an Aprillia RSV1000 last week, the customer who is a daily commuter into Nottingham hasn't reported back yet with his findings, I will report the feedback when he does. They are currently only available in certain sizes, I'm not sure the SV650 sizes are available yet. The 120/180 combination I fitted to the Aprillia worked out at £195 fitted to the bike. I reckon the price to forum members would be around £180. Cheers. |

They are indeed available for the SV - rear 160/60 front 120/60
I ordered mine today at lunch time today and paid £190 for the pair plus £25.25 for fitting on the bike! so all in for £215.25 - not bad i don't think Racing Snake |
