Default What a night!

So I decided to have a quiet night in...how wrong I was!

My younger brother had gone out with a few friends and was on his way home. The doorbell rang and it was my brothers friend (lets call him Mr B) who started screaming that he had been mugged for his phone and a group of boys now had my brother. I thought "****e" and legged it out the house and down the road without telling Matt where the heck I was going.

My mum then shouted at me and started running after me with no shoes on. "Ive got no weapons, what am I supposed to hit them with?" I yelled to mum. "I dont bl00dy know, ive got no shoes!!" said my mum.

We soon caught up to my brother and his friends. The gang had gone but my brother was really shaken up. So we started to walk back home with him. Matt then joined us after asking a man walking his dogs "whether a woman with no shoes had run past" (lol)

In the meantime, Mr B (the friend) had rung his parents and the mum turned up in her car to find out what the hell had happened. The father then turned up on his scooter and at that exact moment they spotted the gang (4 boys) emerging from the park.

"Quick, get them!!" screamed the mum and she jumped on the back of the scooter yelling "go go go!" - the father then whizzed after them and they dissapeared into the park. I found this rather amusing because the mum is the nicest, calmest person Ive met. She's not someone you think would go chasing after a gang of boys and using every possible swear word under the sun!

After about 10 minutes the parents had collared all 4 of them after chasing after them in the park - 1 of them apparently gave up and just sat on the floor (as you would with a 6ft scottish bloke chasing after you in a leather jacket and helmet lol!)

The police then turned up and put them in the car and came back to my house to see if my brother and his friend were willing to press charges. They're currently downstairs taking a statement.

Can you believe that they stole a £10 mobile and an oyster card (a travel card which has photo ID)

My area never used to be like this, makes you wonder what the world is coming to But at least thats 4 idiots off the streets for a bit.

Moral of this story? there isnt one. But I did learn that if a member of my family was being attacked by a group of people (or something), Id definately intervene and try to help. I always thought Id be sensible and call the police and let them deal with it. But once I heard my brother was in trouble I just legged it down the road with no regard for my own safety at all. I guess instinct really does take over

When you find out what the police will meter out as "punishment" you'll realise the moral of the tale is...

Its what the land of today is like I'm afraid maria.
shocking when it happens close to home.

However, you recalled it in a very amusing manner. For some reason I can only imagine the mum and dad on a scooter riding around a dark park on a scooter....like a Benny Hill scene

Had a nightmare 2 weeks ago tonight, sat at PC about 10.45pm just contemplating going to bed and heard the faint sound of windows smashing and then the unmistakable sound of my car alarm. Someone had decided to smash 3 windows on me car and had done the same to 4 others within 1/4 of mile of mine. The police got him and came round for a witness statement at 3am in the morning, followed by the CSI guy at 8am

Wow, well done Missy, glad you are ok and your brother is safe and well, if slightly shaken up. Poor lad. I admire your courage and think that Matt should give you the biggest hug ever.

Not sure I am the sort to go running after gangs in dark places, that is what the Police are for, but then I am a softy really.
