Default Which forks are interchangable with a curvy?

I've done a search for this but can't find anything so I apologise if it's been asked numerous times but here goes;

Which forks / front ends will fit on to my 2000 SV650S? I'm seriously considering getting a GSXR front end but I'm unsure as to which will fit. Also, will I have to change my ignition and everything to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

Your ignition will swap out into the new yolk so you can keep the current keys etc.

The front end conversion isnt just a case of swapping the forks over. It literally is a front end conversion. Look at your bikes headstock, everything attached to the bike from here will be replaced. Youll need a gsxr: wheel, brakes, yolks, fork legs, mud guard. You've then got some other bits you'll need depending on the year of GSXR parts that you use, ie you'll need modifications to the headstock/an overseas part or maybe get lucky and it'll just some new bearings after that you've got the bits to sort out where the GSXR parts of your bike meet the SV parts so you'll need clip ons the ones from the TL1000 are the most commonly used, also then there is the speedo to sort out. The SV goes from the front spindle, a modification can be made using magnets or a toally different less convensional method.

What do you recon YC, have I been paying attention or what?

Ah right. Can you tell I haven't really thought this all through?

What if I only wanted to change my forks? The forks on my curvy are currently abit scruffy and the seals need doing shortly. I was thinking of swapping them for some good condition SV ones but would some GSXR forks possibly fit with my existing yoke and wheel? (I doubt it but worth asking eh! )

EDIT: Sorry after reading the beginning of your post again, it's not possible to simply swap the forks. Hmmm. I have got to decide whether it's worth all the hassle of swapping the whole front end I suppose..

What you could do is take off your current forks, remove the springs and the oil (as you'd have to in a re-build anyway). then just replace them with better stiffer springs and denser oil. This would give a much better front fork with a fraction of the hassle.

Maybe GSXR slabside ones (85-87), but they're rubbish.

If you want GSXR forks you need to go whole hog. Leedsmatt speaks sense

Easiest swap is SRAD parts (96-99)

Not denser, more viscous. Viscosity is resistance of fluid to shearing like when it flows through the drillings in damper rod.

Convention doesn't help when it refers to viscosity by "weights"!
