What a silly question
First choose your bacon. If you can get to know your pig first. Otherwise get to know a good pork butcher. Do not use supermarket cr@p As a kid, we had sides of the stuff hanging for what seemed weeks, properly cured, non of your injected full of salty water rubbish thank you. Cut a couple of thick rashers. Personally I prefer it grilled, but the wife seems to do it in the pan. I like it lean, cooked but not hard.
