Default A question about coils

Hi all,

I have bought a 1999 SV650 (curvey) in bits and I noticed that the coils are different sizes. The Haynes manuals picture suggests that the larger of the coils is for the back cylinder can someone confirm this?

Cheers

HHH

Judging by the age of the bike one coil has been replaced probably not with OE coil, but another coil of the same type may be slightly different in size

Sorry just noticed "In bits"

Are the two coils the same and can be used for either cylinder?

Shorter wire is for the rear cylinder as it isnt long enough to reach the front.I think the two coils are the same though.

Last question (honest) are the coils spaced off the frame or screwed directly to the frame?

Both

There are bolts go straight through the coils onto the frame. But the frame has some stand-off type lugs on it.

Coils are same front and rear, but front one has a longer HT lead on it as stock.
