Default Suspension mount snapped!

Just swapping the shock on my curvy race bike, and I missed out the washers on the linkage mount on the bottom of the frame...torqued it up, and the one of the lugs has snapped off the frame.

@rse.....

Is the frame scrap, or can anyone weld them?

Oops, not familiar with the curvy frame, is that part cast or welded extrusion? Either way it should be weldable, but you're probably have to dismantle a fair bit and do the rounds of your local engineering firms to find someone who will take it on.

It's cast (which probably makes it harder to repair):

It's not part of the main frame, it's a bit welded in.

You might be able to get a scrapped frame, cut that bit out and get someone to weld it in, would be neater and more original than trying to weld on just that lug.

I personally would consider it scrap though and get another but I'm sure someone would be able to do it.

I was thinking it might be scrap, but it's a shame as the rest of the frame is mint, and most of the ones for sale tend to be cat c or d recorded......

Am I the first muppet to do this...?

Anyone got a scrap frame they fancy cutting the spar out of?

Does that matter for a race bike?

I'll have the rest of it if anyone does[1]!

Probably not for a pure race bike, but I've still got all the road kit as well, and it's pretty tidy. Too tidy to be badged as a write off!

Sell the road kit, buy tuning goodies. A few spills will soon stick enough scuffs into the frame to make it non-tidy.
