Default HPI websites

Can anyone recommend me a good HPI check type website.

I know there are a few kicking around, competing on price etc. I'm after the usual accident/finance/stolen recovered info.

Ta,

I used HPICheck.com .... Think it was £19.99 when I did it, but better than a repossesed motorbike

Check this site,

http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Insurance/Data-checks.aspx

I decided to use HPI Check (£19.99) as it looked to be the most thorough.

Thats a cool link, cheers. I did use the RAC in the end, £19.99 for all the info. Although the bike in question was almost 12 years old, i didn't want to take any chances on oustanding finance etc.

Money well spent, even though it did come back clear. Especially after reading this post http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=142902.

Anyhow, price agreed, deposit paid, picking up soon!

Be aware that HPI will only capture total losses or outstanding finance. It won't tell you if the bike was either damaged but repairable economically, nor will it inform you about bikes that were not "recorded" as being accident damaged.

IE only comprehensively insured bikes, or those subject to a non fault third party claim. The most terrifying category is the idiots who throw it down the road, dont get it inspected, but then bodge the repairs themselves at home. You could still end up with a twisted weakened frame.

I'd say the cash was better spent on a pproper engineering report than HPI, as even if you buy a bike with finance outstanding, Finance Co's will not be any the wiser or bothered if the payments are kept up to date by the original finance applicant, and if they do, then providing you can show that you are the innocent purchaser, are highly likely to drop any interest in the bike (porviding they are clear its not some sort of scam, ie you didn't just sell it to your wife for a quid or something).
