Default Dirty weekend

Did a three hour Hare and Hounds this weekend, quite possibly the hardest conditions I've ever ridden in. It was a fairly short course of only about three miles and there was a youth event in the morning before the main event. By the time we got to go round (150 plus riders) it was already cutting up and by the third lap it was reduced to a second gear slog through deep mud for just about the entire lap. I finished, but can't remember the last time I felt that knackered!

You just would not believe how heavy a bike gets when it's in this condition...

God knows, I do know over half the field dropped out, and the other half (including me) were taking some mega short cuts towards the end just to keep going (like going around the table tops simply because you couldn't get enough traction to go up them!) Still great fun though. Mind you it took me nearly all day to clean the bike today, and I haven't started on the camper yet....

You think you had it hard, won't someone please think of the race marshals who have to keep track of you all

New worst job: Commentator for this sort of event.

Looks like you had a giggle, I'm getting tired just looking at it!

commentating this is easy, the muddy bike is in the lead followed closely by the more muddy bike.
