Hi all
Been running the 600rr on diablos for the last couple of years (very impressive)but now need a new set of rubber(front is down to the wear markers & im on my 2nd rear which is also ready for changing)can't decide whether to try the pilot sports or stick with what i know & like(diablos) on this particular bike. Never tried the pilot sports on any of my bikes, but i'm sure some of you might have...are they as good as the diablos?...do they get as sticky?....will i get around the same milage?...will be used for medium/hard road riding. cheers..robo ![]() |

i had them on the thou and no complaints at all. not ridden diablos so cant compare but i was very impressed. got in the region of 4k out of a rear and they held up to 2500k thrash round france without problems.
thought they were awesome in the wet. |

I had two sets i.e 2fronts,4 rears Mich 2ct on the Sprint and they were excellent for mileage 6000rear and 12000 fronts. I am running a set of corsa111 at the moment which are very good but I can't see them giving the same mileage as the 2ct's,probably nearer 4500 for the rear
As for as grip is concerned I think the Corsa3 to be slightly better then the 2ct, and they don't seem to be squaring off as much as the 2ct. I would expect to put another corsa3 on the rear before the front is shagged. Do you sacrifice the mileage for grip or go with the 2ct for economy? |

I went from Super Corsas to Pilot Road 2CTs on my 600RR. The Pirellis lasted about 1800 miles (on the rear) so I wasn't hanging about. I changed to Pilot Roads for a touring trip to France because I needed the mileage. When I first got them on the bike I didn't like them. They were a lot slower handling than the Pirellis. However, after a week of touring France I was hooked. Heated fast with no grip issues whatsoever at all. They got proper pushed in France and when I got back to the UK. I did about 6,000 miles on them and i sold the bike with them still on - with plwnty of meat left on them. If I still had my 600RR I would replace them again with the Pilot Roads. Great tyre.

Yeah ive read some good reports on them(grip etc)what sort of milage was you getting f/r?
(NOTE...was it the pilot powers or the more sports-touring pilot road 2 you had on your rr,looking at both your posts i'me not sure, lol) Any idea how the pilot power 2ct might compare to the diablos?(if thems the ones you had on,lol.) cheers, robo. Last edited by sv-robo; 18-10-09 at 05:19 PM. |
