Default Dropped my bike today... :(

Felt like a complete muppet

Turning the bike around on the driveway this morning, it's a fairly sloped drive made of loose gravel and stones, bike must have sped up whilst turning slightly and I just lost my balance whilst stood next to it. I had that 'oh sh--' moment where you think your strength might be able to save it but no, over I go with the bike. Fortunately doesn't look like anything is damaged majorly, crash bung is slightly scratched and the gear selector rod thingy is bent slightly although I'm not sure if it's meant to be(?). Looks like it may have been pushed in by the foot peg bracket perhaps.
Picked her back up very quickly. Took some deep breaths and tried to start her up. Got some 'check' message on the dash which scared me. Checked the kill switch (only thing I could think of), was fine. Turned it on and off a few times, moved the kickstand up and took it in and out on neutral, worked! No idea what it was but probably something very basic I'd not thought about in my slightly dazed state.
Had to happen at some point I guess, still kicking myself though

it happens. Dropped mine outside my house a number of times - usually a foot slipping whilst pushing it.

Yea at least it wasn't somewhere public! That whole cool biker image is ruined when you clumsily fail to keep your bike upright :P
Was disheartening, hasn't knocked my confidence too much, infact todays been a great day for riding. I just know that come tomorrow when I go out for a ride I'm going to end up worrying before I even get on the thing!

Did they pick the bike up for you?

All done it, don't feel alone.

Slipping on fuel in a petrol station doesn't help.

Neither does it when your blipping between cars and get stuck and have to nose your front wheel on the kerb, only to loose balance and fall over....

I laid mine down, ever so gently, today.

Putting the centre stand down, foot slipped off the stand and it fell away from me. Too heavy to hold up but eased it down in a semi-controlled way.

Hardly marked but felt a right richard

I did it, and i grabbed the throttle to stop it falling, engine was screaming and the peg caught my trousers and pulled me on top. So everyone heard the engine and saw me stuck on top of it deperately trying to free myself. Doh!
