You being a girl and not prodding lever far enough? Check the throw on it vs. where your foot is to make sure there's plenty within reach.

Otherwise could be worn forks/dogs, someone makes a new shift detent star with, I believe, more aggressive slope on its ramps to avoid this.

www.factorypro.com

The number one mod I was told to do over anything else on an SV. Suppose its time I bought it

I can recommend the Factory Pro kit, I bought mine direct from the states, worked out a lot cheaper than sourcing it this side of the pond.

Alternatively buy the SV650 'K5' spring, Star and roller arm, for about £30 i Think, exactly the same as factory pro stuff at a fraction of the price. Beleive it's compatible with Carby motors. Call Sarah @ Steve Jordans - she'll know & can supply the parts. I did this mod to a K3 motor and transformed it. Syptoms were exactly as you describe.

10/10. Suzuki uprated a fair bit on the K5 and this was one of the mods. It works out alot cheaper than the Factory Pro kit and does exactly the same.

A quick update the OE upgraded Suzuki kit is £47.36 with org discount plus you will need a new clutch cover gasket unless yours is good making the whole kit for a carby upgrade £58.06 inc org discount and postage.

The shape of that cover is a pain in the rse to cut out of paper. And it will only leak if you don't have a replacement. So I'd recommend ordering a gasket...
