Just an interesting conversation I've been having with a friend and we got on to the discussion of wildcards. I don't really know what the rules are to enter bsb and I've had a look on the website and it's not really helpful.
We were talking about the bsb supersport 600. What do you have to have to race? I know you need an ACU license and to be between 16 and 25 I think it is. But for example, bike? How much do you guys estimate cost for one race weekend? My friend seems to think its a good idea to save up and do one, but I assume you have to be fast enough to be allowed to race, eg a % of the fastest guys times? Cheers, Dave |

To qualify for each race you need to beat a certain lap time on each circuit. To fully prep a new bike to BSS level will cost you the wrong end of £20k, to buy a pre-prepped bike is considerably less but still over £10k for most examples.
You have to pay a fee to register for the season then pay an entry fee into each race, i'm not sure of the cost of BSS/BSB but the thundersport entry fees are typically £250-£300. There's also a bunch of sponsorship stuff that needs to be sorted out, and iirc BSS run control tires. |
