I have an SV650S, 2002 model, which I disovered is not bullet-proof as I managed to blow up the engine. I have possibly found a replacement, similar mileage, but it is from a 99 model which was a T Plate, does anyone know if this will fit mine. Been looking for months for a replacement but they are like the proverbial rocking horse poo....
Thanks |

Yea, it should easily fit in
![]() Do you know why the last engine let go? We have had a few people run their engines low or even dry of oil and loose the engine. |

Thanks for that. It blew a gasket or two I think. I checked oil before I left Lincolnshire, and it was about 3/4 full, and it blew not far from Hatfield Tunnel. I was lucky there was a) no traffic coming up quickly as I was on the outside lane, and b) I stayed on and got it to hard shoulder.
I will see if the engine is still available and try and get it. |

At that age probably only half black, half peeled off!

Truth is I don't care what it looks like as long as it goes and I can get the bike back on the road.

No it isn't, the later cases look far better over time, the black is prone to peeling.

Ignoring the scuff on the alternator casing, see just how much the paint has peeled off the cases at the bottom of the front barrel.
Of course I did ride it in every weather condition. Druid
