Right, apologies for another thread on my brakes
![]() I'm sure Sid Squid told me the hydraulic caliper seals as opposed to the dust seals are not symmetrical and go in a particular way up. Now, I can't really see any difference, maybe, but I might just be imagining it. So assuming there is a difference, which way in do they go? Thanks |

I asked back in 2005 about the seals as I could not see any wedge shape. Sid Squid confirmed there was no difference.

Red rubber grease, brake fluid reacts with water and salt and causes them to seize.

Not introducing any contaminants to the fluid. If I was racing I would use brake fluid and service them often, because red rubber grease has an unknown boiling point.
But if you can get the brakes hot enough on street for that to matter then you either a liar or they seized ![]()
