Not a clue why they did it. It's like Bernie Ecclestone's hissy fits whenever a title is decided before the last race of a season. Someone obviously considers Camier's excellent performance and dominance a bad thing.

The thing I don't get, is that there are some fairly serious negatives going on here. For starters we won't really give a toss about who is leading the championship for 9 events, we'll probably care more about who is 6th and 7th since that's the cut off for the "Title Fighter" qualification.
Then it becomes a 6 horse race for the last 3 rounds, they'll only race each other and nobody will give a toss about any of the other riders, even if they win races.

So whilst you might have 3 rounds of "title fighting", you've got 9 rounds of not caring who is leading the "championship"(wtf, and if it can even be called that any more) and then 3 rounds of race-within-a-race separation of the field.

Things like this just make the competition feel falsified, canned and forced.

I don't have a clue, it's like they want to be seen to be doing something for their salary, so they fiddle.

Perhaps we'll all start caring more about Superstocks or Supersports this year.
