Default BMC air filter - clean or bin?

Got a BMC air filter on my curvey and it looks pretty dirty. Is it better to:
  • Clean & oil with some K&N cleaner & oil
  • Clean with washing up liquid and leave it dry
  • Chuck it in the bin and get a standard (if they get restrictive 'cos cleaning doesn't get all the crap out)

K+N cleaning kit and oil works fine
