Default Electrical problem with K5

Ok.... Bike is coming out from hibernation and have been getting her ready for riding again but...
Initially on charging the battery i could switch the alarm off, turn the ignition on ; the injectors would prime and the display would turn on. Super, so i turned it off as wanted to bleed the brakes first then start her up.

Brake bleeding done, alarm off, ignition switch on and nothing. no injectors priming, no display.

I've checked the cut off switch, fuses, and tried to trace the wiring loom as best as possible but cant see any reason for it just stopping.

The odd thing is that even when the alarm is switched on i can turn the ignition key on without the alarm going off. I'm thinking something is wrong with the ignition circuit but have no idea where to start.

I also noticed that when depressing the start button (although there was no display nor injectors priming) the neutral green light would come on sometimes, the rev dial occasionally went on a spaz and the clicking sound could be heard. Is it possibly the battery? In which case why did it prime perfect the first time round....?

Suggestions welcome! (and no, its not in gear)
Thanks!

Sounds just like my a couple of weeks ago. I pulled up one night with a working bike, and next day had no electrics at all (and my alarm didn't recognise the ignition being switched on either).

The ever resourceful Mr Squid found the problem to be a dodgy connector - the one under the front of the tank on the right side. It seems it could have been something as minor as me putting on the steering lock the night before that finally caused the connection to turn up its toes.
