Default nooo - iphone got wet! :-(

I'm such an idiot...

Was round my mates last night, a couple of 'em were in the hottub. Anyways, I left my iphone on the table indoors and was chilling next to 'em. My jeans got soaked though, and I put my phone in the jeans pocket on the way home.

Now its just acting up. The positive is that it still works kinda - phone calls seem to cut randomly though and a few other things.

I put a hair dryer to the iphone headphone jack and usb slot. It's now sitting in a bag of rice with the hope it will withdraw some more moisture.

There is water droplets behind the camera lens which is worrying. Anybody have any other tips/suggestions for phones that get wet, would be much appreciated. Sadly I'm uninsured. not good

Someone on another forum said that the best thing is to soak it in pure alcohol. That drives out the water and, apparently, doesn't damage the electronics. If you don't dare try that, or don't have pure alcohol, then the rice is the next best thing.

Just to warn you, iPhones have a moisture sensor inside. If you send it back for repair, then Apple will know that it's been soaked and may well refuse to fix it under warranty.

Most phones have that sensor now.

I would just switch it off and leave it in the bag of rice for 24 hours. I hope you have it insured?

Isnt advisable to eat it; if you insist, have chips instead.
