Default Mixing tyres and sizes

my front is just about shot, but rear has a little life left in it. Would have to check last MOT to work out mileage, but doesn't really matter right now.

I'm currently running Contiforce and from the reviews, have decided on Storms as the next set. I've seen mixed reviews on tyre size, keeping the rear at 160/60 but fronts either 120/60 or 120/70.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of going with 120/70 for the front?

Should I really be changing for the same front and back at the same time, or would mixing the Contiforce rear with a Storm front until the rear is worn out, be ok?

the front 120/70 makes the speedo read a little more correctly, but will slow down the turn in speed slightly so it will handle slower but be more stable at speed, also head something about the profile been more pointed or something to that effect and does somthing to the turn in speed but not sure what

i would just go with 120/60 160/60 and change the tires at the same time

the problem with mixing tires is they have different designs, so they can have different characteristics and mixing "could" upset the bike

if i were you id just go and do some burn outs and get them both changed

What he said ^^^
I'd do the opposite.

I would happily mismatch tyres within reason, and happily run a '70 if it suited me for whatever reason.

+1. Even on the race track, mixing tyres is still proving to be fine. I've tried various different manufacturers front and rear and all worked fine although they did have a different feel each time, but not neccessarily in a bad way.

I ran a 120/70 on the Sv and the only problem was stones getting picked up by the sticky front tyre scratching along the underside of the mudguard. Handling was excellent.

I wouldn't howerver recommend that you mix sporty rubber with Sports touring rubber. Keep the general type the same.
