We have 1 or 2 mice living under the floor of our bedroom. They originally got in through a hole right by the roof of our bay window. I blocked this, along with any other holes I could see, as laying poison were I had seen them wasn't working. This weekend, I saw one of the little buggers again on the bay window roof. He is still getting in/out somewhere around the bay window roof, but I can not see a hole. I have tried putting a bait box down, both out on the roof on the window sill and in the airing cupboard as there are gaps in the floorboards there, big enough for a mouse. I also put extra seed in and around the bait box, but they just stay clear of it.
I have to be careful with poison, as we have doves that feed off our bay window roof (this is why they are attracted to the roof in the first place) and I don't want to kill them! It's really annoying as I have a cat, and he so badly wants to catch/kill/eat them, but they are never in the living areas of the house! |

Try peanut butter (yes, peanut butter) in the trap
I got one of those humae traps and caught several that were living under my daughters outside play house, they got inside it to eat the rabbits food, as that's where his run is kept in the winter. Trap worked with peanut butter, although it wasn't always humane. ![]() But I didn't have anymore problems once I'd caught 3

Dude choclate works best for mice as a baite so I have heard...
May be a lay trap which catches the little f***** then either kill em or feed them to the cat, would you want to let them go? The only problem with I can see with posion is that if the vermin eat it and die behind something it really does stink. I went round to this house with work after I finshed up what I was doing they were like err we have this smell. I was like ok was up? I went into this other room, something for sure was dead in there which you really don't want. Espically with summer coming... My folks live in country we never had a huge problem with mice ect as the cats eat most of them then never had a problem. We had a rat which hissed at the cats and freaked em out, so my dad hit over the head with something heavy problem solved! Try the above maybe? |
