Hello boys and girls,
I havent been on here for awhile, but return to ask for the wisdom of the .org! When I put my key into the ignition and turn it, it feels crunchy or grainy, not smooth. I thought this might be dirt in there, but a friend said it might be because someone has tried to force the lock? There is no other damage to the bike and the ignition/stearing lock still works fine. Any ideas/ anyone had this issue? Thanks (and can we bring back the sun please! ![]() |

If its been left out side it could just be a combo or rainwater and dirt getting in, give it a blast of penatrant then WD40.
I'd have thought that if someone had treid to force it there would be other marks scratches or dents on it to serve as an indication. |

I read somewhere you're supposed to lube the lock mech. a couple of times a year (Can't rmeember if that was garaged or ungaraged) I do it plenty anyway.
Did my car's after buying it, smooth as anything now - feared I was going to need to replace the boot one when I first bought it.

My lock was a bit difficult at first. I managed to free up the steering lock so it's smooth, but turning on the ignition is not the easiest. There is not a lot of room there so I turn on before I put my gloves on. I do the push turn bit as it helps. Also my keys will come out whilst it is running!
