Default Kawasaki z750s got keys but ignition missing.

After a theft attempt my 06 z750s has had the ignition smashed off and is now missing. I still have the red and black keys but dont know if this will help or not. The problem is that to replace the lock set costs around £500 as you also need the ecu as the keys are programmed to it. Does anyone know if I can repace the ignition and have some sort of workaround for the keys so dont have to repace the entire set as the keys are programmed for my ecu but the new keys wouldn't be. Any advice on this would be welcome as the info on this is a little bit vague using google.
Thanks

Does the bike work as is?If it does I wouldnt bother spending £500 on a four year old bike.No idea how to get around the problem otherwise.

The problem is usually the transponder in the key, the way round it is to get a new lock then get it re-keyed to your original key. I did a 'how-to' a while ago on how to re-key a lock.

The alternative is that on some keys (eg GSX-R ones) you can remove the transponder from the original key, you may be able to do this from the old key and insert into the new key.

Thats the best advice so far, kawasaki don't want to know about these things though and only want to sell me the whole package, the guy said it would be around £700 to £800 for them to do it so have to find some kind of fix for it, either of those solutions would be suitable, do you have a link to the re key thing.
Thanks

No, Kawasaki wouldn't, nothing in it for them to sell you just a new lock and mess about with barrels etc.
