Hi all, im new to this site and to be honest new to the sv bike also, ive rideden for years and tried an sv650 sk9 about a month ago and fell in love with it, i now own 1 and would like some info if pos on best bits for it, such as it still has its factory exhaust and i would like to change it but not sure which ones are best for the bike, also im not sure if the bike has been restricted as my other machine gixxer 750 and has alot more power so not sure if this is all im looking at, i get it upto 56 in first then i get power stop/loss.......any help would be great thanks

If it's restricted you'll lose puff at around 8k revs. You'll also struggle to get it past 90mph. I guess you'll be looking for that private test road to see.

ristirction is top end bias so if you can do over 110mph its not
upgrades are personal choice but id go for crash bungs (defo) fender extender (defo) gsxr rear shock or ohlins (optional) tail tidy (optional) zuast of choice (there are hundreds of threads about it on here) plenty of fuel (defo) welcome by the way |

the SV only has 69bhp so tops out at 150 indicated, the gsxr750 will have a lot more power.
Aftermarket exausts are fitted more for the sound that the power advantage, should of got a slightly older one 99-02 would of been best and a naked version looks the best :P |

after hitting second i fly up no probs and as for the top end speed had 125 up to now from it, i think im just used to the pop i get from the gixxer to be honest,
i can seriously see why though why i have heard so much about this bike, they ride lovely even with a pillion on board, thanks guys for the replys |

there aint no loss at 8k to be honest, i have no probs red lineing it through each gear,

56mph in first? My SV won't do that....is the power stop/loss the rev limiter?
If you can rev to 11k in 3rd gear then it is not restricted. Easy way to test. |

This is a wind up surely? Have you looked at the rev counter when power loss occurs. They only do 130 flat out in top.
