Oil + filter change question

Hey guys

Doing my own oil and filter in a couple of weeks time and just doing some prep by making sure ive got my facts straight... As I understand it theres a special tool (Suzuki part # 09915-40611) that you need in order to do the new filter up... Do you really need this? Ive never used one on any other vehicle ive owned.. Just always done the filter up hand tight.

My car takes 3 ish litres (changing that at the same time) and I have a litre or so left over from the last change i did 6 months ago, thus leaving just enough to do the SV (or in worst case buying a 1L top up)

Is the aformentioned oil going to be suitable? would be good news if it is

10-40 is fine as is semi synth but would need to be motorbike specific oil, and no you don't need a special tool for the oil filter.

I havent found that i needed a special tool to do the filter, however if you have had a stealer do the service in the past you may find the filter has been put on so tight you cant undo without it (or if you can do you completely destroy it in the process like i did)

hammer and screwdriver if you can't undo it.

Hand tight and strap wrench quarter turn if unhappy with a touch or oil on the o ring to help seal

Haha, I had hoped I might just get lucky enough to use the same oil I use in my car in my bike, but alas not I guess. My mate owned the bike before me, and knowing him it will either be on tighter than a ducks bum or so loose you could undo it with your feet. Will give this a bash in a couple of weeks and report back! Cheers guys
