Default Insurance declaration

Simple one, really.

Do you guys decalre EVERYTHING you do to your bikes to the insurance company?

Or only ones that cost a lot/are very obvious/changes performace?

How do they normally react?

I remember when I got my first car, a £500 Escort that I modded like a chav, and when I told the insurance half the time the call centre person didnt even seem interested and usually didnt know what relevance the part was - i.e new back box - "What's a back box"

Maybe the bike industry is different? Or maybe I just had **** insurers lol.

Everything, insurance even went down when i added a scottoiler on the web quote page.

Worst thing to happen would be an accident (not your fault) and have a claims assessor turn up, take one look, laugh and point the police towards you for riding with invalid insurance because you failed to mention a hugger and exhaust.......

I changed my exhaust put a k&n air filter in and a few other bits, and my insurance company said it was all fine and my insurance stayed the same, its always better to declare then you dont have to worry about the hassle of your insurance company trying to screw you in the event of an accident..

At what point (in your experience) do they normally hike the price up?

You gave me the idea of checking how much would be added for a slip on for the CBR. Nothing as long as it was cosmetic and not a full system.

Tail tidy was also free so I'll be fitting that and looking for a slip on now.
