Default Oxford heated grips voltage problem.

OK so I invested in a pair of oxford hotgrips this winter to stop my hands turning to iceblocks. I fitted them exactly as described in http://www.sv650.org/docs/FittingHotGrips.pdf. My problem is that when I drop to low revs, the headlamps are on, the brake lights are on and I have an indicator blinking (ie whenever I turn a corner) the heated grips turn off. I assume this is the safety mechanism built in to the grip controller to prevent them from flattening the battery when they are wired up directly and accidentally left on, but its getting a little annoying. I have a new Yuasa YT12A-BS battery, so that shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

PS if anyone has any tips of how to hide the cables leading from the controller to the grips with the creative use of cable ties, i'm all ears! I have a bit of a bundly mess underneath my clocks!

Apparently the grips turn off if the supply voltage to the grips drop below a certain voltage. As you start to use power in the form of lights and indicators the the voltage level can drop. This shouldn't be a problem if you've got the bike revving, but can be an issue at low revs.

Someone will be along soon with more details i'm sure!

Disconnect the grips from the control unit and fit a relay into an ignition live and supply the grips from there - no voltage related disconnections, no flat batteries from leaving them on.
