Not sure if it's been put on here yet.

been going on for years. I got barred from a pub in Aylesbury for going in with an England shirt on.

Can't see it taking off though. The Landlord would only be 'sending' customers to pubs that didn't have a ban.

apparently, the pubs down my way will allow you in with a footy shirt on before a match, but not after

Can't say for sure though as I only drink in the Royal British Legion

Well as my local has 2 England banners hanging of the walls, plus most premiership emblems and the major Scottish ones, give discounts during live Premiership games and the managers husband is a member of England Supporters club. I doubt they would ban the wearing of an England top.

Side issue though, we are trying to ban the wearing of anything with Carlesberg on it. (He is a blue, poor sod)

What the hell is going on in this country, by country i mean England not Britain.
If i go to Scotland they are able to wear or fly their flag with pride & i say "good on em", if i go to Wales the same applies, but here in England, we seem to not be allowed to show support or pride for our own country, well i'm sorry but i am English & will continue to be English until the day i die.

We do have a bit of an issue with football shirts up here, but that generally only tends to be Rangers/Celtic shirts. Many pubs won't let you in with a football shirt on at all.

Rugby shirts seem to be ok but football shirts are a no no.

Not far from the truth... the original story was in the Sun. Lots of pubs in sheffieldvcity centre are picky about football colours though, so I'm not surprised by a story like this appearing.

This "story" is a complete over reaction.

Lazy sensationalist journalism by the red tops to create ill feeling about the world cup as usual. The world cup is pretty much the oly time when the whole country gets together to enjoy spomething together and the papers are hell bent on creating misery.

A letter from the police was sent to landlords giving them advice on how to avoid violence around world cup time, one of the many pieces of advice was to not let people in wearing football tops. This was likley a suggestion to pubs who probably wont be showing the match anyway to keep drunken football "fans" out.

In my experience the only time you get trouble in pubs after a match are when they are the kind of pubs who have trouble in the all the time anyway.

However I am not sure I want to be in a pub full of people who are silly enough to pay £50 for an ill fitting, poorly made polo shirt.
