Default Insurance declaration - restriction.

I've just bought a SV650, but as im 19 its restricted, do I have to declare this on my insurance, or will they assume its restricted anyway as its the law?
Also having trouble finding a company that will insure me

You should declare this to the company. They may ask for proof too. ie certificate

Doh, you definitely should have checked you could get insurance before purchasing

Try devitt, lexham, carole nash, simply, falcon, aviva, bennets (watch them) and as many more as possible! all by phone. And mention the restriction, it's not a legal requirement for a certificate but some places are arsey.

Declare it.
however i found when i did this on comparison sites, my insurance went upto about £2500 cause it was an "engine mod" however in the real world it tends to make no difference

Hi, welcome to the Org!!

I insure my SV through Suzuki Insurance, which is actually Express Insurance....

Now, I'm a tad older than you, (31), but they beat Bennets by £200.00 when I renewed my policy last year.

This year, I've added a 2nd bike to my policy and have still beat Bennets quote. £280.00 Fully Comp. For 2 bikes.

Anyway, hope that helps.

I've got my insurance sorted, who I was with before cancelled insuring me once I had passed my test as they don't insure 'modified' bikes, which I told them it would be restricted in the first place. After much searching and many phone calls finally got it all sorted!
