Because I was messing with my FZR. What started out as a good idea ended up being a 6 hour job. It's done now & I just hope it helps handling.
Its a 2009 R6 Shock, fully adjustable. My mate made up the dog bones & spacers, but I had to fine tune some things. ![]() Bottom of the shock needed to be ground down & rounded off for clearance ![]() Top spacers were made .5mm too thick. I haven't got a vice at home, so had to sand them down....... 2 hours ![]() ![]() Nice job on the Dogbones ![]() ![]() Job Jobbed ![]() ![]()

Looks like a well finished shock.
Not meaning to give dem negative waves, but I don't like look of those dogbones, way you have radiused narrowing of section looks too far and sharp and will create stress riser. You want smooth radius so you don't get stress concentration. P.S where is the ride height adjuster on that fully adjustable shock ![]()

He He, I should change that then, nearly fully adjustable lol.
There is a guy in the States that has put up the engineering drawings for the bones & spacers, my mate copied them. they are made from 1/4" steel plate, so should be ok. I know I'm fat, but it should take my weight & I ride like a pussy, so there shouldnt be too much stress on them ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ok mate it's your ass, but they are under cyclic loading and there could be risk, albeit slim, of fatigue failure.
Riding like a pussy or not, dogbones do not care whether you are hitting a bump at 10mph or 110mph.

Make them as beefy as possible around the mounting bolts and have a smooth radius from the shank into the ends, yours look a little too square at each end which could cause a stress induced failure. Best of all would be completely parallel bars raduissed off at each end with the eye bolt holes machined in, if there's room for wider dogbones in the set-up, which it looks like there is on your bike. Some, like my old Bandit's, needed to have slimmer shanks to clear the swingarm, but yours don't.

Spot on Lozzo. I was wondering why they had to be that shape. I have some bar here at work, so parallel it is then.
Many thanks

I think they are seriously short for SV.
What you want is davieSV to make you new end for an RSV sachs unit.
