Default R&G Bobbins

I have been given the internals for an R&G crash bobbin set (the engine bolts and brackets) with the engine I have just purchased.

I'm after just the black sliders and the screw needed to fit them.

Anyone got a spare pair? or know where to buy them?

Cheers
Aran

You can buy them from R&G, but they work out at around £30 each IIRC. In which case, it's almost worth just buying the full kit.

Breakers yards sometimes have a bucket load that you can snaffle for a few quid.

Thanks. Well thats abit ****! Are they universal?

Also would it be fine to fit the parts I have, waiting till I find a pair? I presume they are hidden behind the fairings?

You'll be able to fit them, but there won't be anything holding the fairings on other than the bikini fairing bolt, the rad mount bolt and the bolt underneath the rearset. Give R&G a ring and see what they can do, I know some people have had freebies off them in the past, but I think they've stopped doing that now.

Just gave them a buzz, £54 :O.

I think I'll wait untill I find a 2nd hand pair before I fit them.

Would other cheaper bobbins fit do you know?

Know anyone with a lathe?

6 inches of black nylon bar and 10 minutes work and you have a pair.

I've just paid R&G £24.01 for 1 Bobbin plus 1 Bolt (M10x1.25x50 Hex Head).

I also got the left hand side metal block - bracket - for a SV650(SK5) for £10 from them.

That's including first class delivery, doesn't seem too bad to me considering they saved me from having to buy a new radiator and whatever else might have been damaged in a 45mph slide. Customer service has been good in my experience as well.

Guess you could buy some cheap bobbins from eBay assuming they'll fit with an M10 bolt.
