Default powder coated front folk?

I went to look at a bike to day Year 2000. The front forks were powder coated gray/black. All the other I have seen have been the normal gold/silver colour.

Any able to help, Is this common? could the bike have been in an accident? It looked really good with full service hitory ect.

advice please

Thanks
David

Its a fairly common mod as the lacquer is prone to flake and good crap as standard, powder coating/painting is an easy and cheap more aesthetically pleasing thing to do to make the bike look good.

Doubt it would be done as the result of an accident.
