Red face Fishing?

Afternoon all,

What a weekend it was weatherwise. Two days of glorious sunshine, but my gosh it wasn't half windy yesterday - perfect day for fishing I hear you all say? Well obviously not, but I gave it a go anyway!

Just took a trip to the local commerical pits in wrentham as I occasionally do for an hour or two of carp catching. Turns out that it turned into a 6 hour session and bagged myself 28 carp on the float, and the lady got 15! No monsters, biggest just tipping the 9lb mark, but an average weight of roughly 4-5lbs. Was an excellent afternoon/evening with the lady and she's really starting to enjoy fishing now (this was her fourth time I think) so it seems I have a partner to go with over this summer instead of being on my own like all the other times haha.
Turned out pretty expensive though, as I managed to stand on my £20 landing net pole, tear a hole in my £20 landing net and then also SOME HOW managed to snap the end of my £65 trusty waggler rod (it's had a hard 3 or 4 years though so I'll let it off), but I did continue to fish with it anyway!

Just really wondered if anyone else on the forum likes a bit of fishing? If so, how'd you fish, where'd you fish, personal bests?

I know it's perhaps a bit sedate for all you petrol head speed freaks, so don't take the p*ss too much

Mucho love

Yep, I do a bit, although I haven't been this season yet, too much going on at home & trying to get fit again.

I'll be going soon, as I've got some holiday booked and the kids are still at school.

Autumn is my favourite time, and I'll be heading out to the Gipping & Suffolk Stour for some serious chub fishing, with the chance of a barbel on the Stour.

PB chub 5lb 8oz

Plus I've booked a days boat fishing on my Norfolk holiday.

Now both children are at school, I'll have more time for fishing.

We've all had days like yours, I broke my waggler rod by trapping it in a car door!

Gutted! At least I broke mine fighting a fish
I literally live a 5min drive from the broads, yet I've never even bothered to attempt to fish on them other than my first time when I was about 5 with my dad. Stupid really!
I've always been boring with my fishing. Tend to go to the same place again and again and just fish the same way for the same thing. I need some diversity!
