Default Video test, my morning run to work

Been wanting to get a tank mount for ages, finally got my hands on one so have been trying it on my runs to work, this was the most interesting of those (I know, I should just chop it down and do "highlights") just testing the theory.

I haven't looked at many so any comments appreciated on how it compares to others, I don't think its ace (no HD obviously) but I don't think its bad either. I think the slight stutter in the frame rate was my capture as I just did it through whatever windows offered up on autorun.

It's 10 mins long so I've added comments to try and make it a little less boring but its my first real test of creating a video rather than just capturing and posting (a la my other youtube (s)hits )

It ends abruptly as it takes almost 20 mins to get to work, especially the longer way I went on this run, see I do have mercy

look for the red car passing around 6 mins, he then thrashes it down the NSL section, crossing the center line and having to swerve back to avoid the oncoming car at around 6:49, hence my decision coming up.

Anyway, enjoy and thanks for taking the time

Didn't want to be behind him but happy to gun it towards a junction while he's the other side of a car blocking his view and about to turn into your path?

Yeah yeah I didn't say I wasn't as bad I do often ride better than that, this morning was boring, following traffic most of the way.

setup is a £20 camcorder off ebay (panasonic) one of these infact:

on one of the brackets that bolts to the tank, looks like the evotech one but cost me less, ebay seller cycle works or something.

Might need to adjust the contrast/saturation to counterbalance the screens washed out effect but not bad for a first effort I think.

and yep, I do rather like my commute, I have 3-4 ways I can go and they are all relatively interesting.

Cool, I put a post up asking if those brackets were any good and based on your video they are, my problem is I have a dark tinted screen!

Ah yeah, flaw in the plan there
fortunately I opted for the cheaper clear double bubble.

Need a wide angle lens for my SLR and I reckon I can get some cool shots.

Very good !

I hope others have watched it close enough to see the red clio? still sat at the junction after your well judged idea of going aroung the quieter side of the island

A nice safe and progressive ride, hazard perception was good and you made good observations of the change in road surfaces.

Well done, you've assessed your ride and pointed out the errors in your captions.

Can I make some suggestions.

On the right handers you were too far over to the right at times.

If you moved over to the left more (providing the road surface allows you), you can carry more speed in to the bend and turn later and on left handers you could have stayed more to the right so there is no need for you to back off.

Unless the vanishing point of the bend doesn't move.

When you caught up with the inpatient car driver before turning off, you could have offsided at a safe distance and look for the overtake if it was safe.

However your plan of action worked in your favour.

Also remember that on familiar roads, also expect the unexpected.

But all in all that was a good ride.
