Bah.
As some of you know I just went out and spunked £600 all my gear, and it looks like I need some more. On my DAS session today it was mildly cold with a little drizzle and foookin heck, I froze my bits off. Waist down was fine - well pleased with my leather trousers and boots. But my leather jacket has perforated bits for air flow and my gloves are summer ones. I can comfortably get a t shirt under my leather jacket, I reckon I could get 2 t shirts under there. So, recommend me some nice warm tight upper body suit! My sumer gloves had no wiper blade on the thumb and it was a job trying to clear my visor. Said visor also kept fogging up, so need to know if these anti-fog sprays are any good?? Also need a neck roll... I did stay dry but it was only very light rain. No doubt if it got any heavier I would have got wet...didnt realise how hard it was to concentrate when shivering! |

Lots of layers is one way.
You can buy expensive heated under suits which are expensive and probably not what you are after. There is also a motorcycle thermal brand called EZ which I know a few people rave about, then you would need less layers. For me when it's cold I just wear 2 long sleeved tshirts and a jumper on top of my leathers. I find that works more that good enough and even when getting a proper soaking. Never used fog sprays myself, just can't see how they would really work that great. What helmet do you have? Is it designed for a pinlock? As these have to be the best way of keeping you visor clear internally in even the worse conditions.

Never underestimate the power of the neck roll. I have a Halvarssons one and it not only keeps your neck warm but also stops the wind blowing down your jacket.
You can get thinkgs called cold killers from a company called Knox, never used them myself and they are expensive but might be worth a try. Failing that many pople wear a fleece over their leathers to stop the wind and block the perforations in the jacket. Get a pinlock for your visor. They are excellent. Or you could just be a tart like me and only go out when it is warm ![]() Good luck on your DAS.

http://www.pinlock.com/index2.htm
http://www.racevisors.co.uk/category...ck-agv-inserts Make sure your visor has the corrects fixings on it to fit a pinlock, these are 2 small pins either side of the visor.

As I only have one kit and I tend to ride in all weathers, I use textiles. Leathers just don't cut it in the wet.
Washing up liquid is better than most anti-fog sprays on the market. There's only one that I've found to be better. Can't remember the name. But in the meantime, good old fairy liquid (or cheap brand) works.

The pinlock bit is normally just to the left of that photo more on the front of the visor. stick up a pic of your lid facing forward.
Look at this pic, the pinlock is the yellow bit, there are pins on the visor to hold it in. ![]() If you dont have pinlock pins you'll need to get a new visor. You can drill them yourself but I doubt it will be as good. Did no-one warn you buying kit is a never ending money pit lol.

Thanks guys.
100% do not have any pinlock holes. So I just assume I have to buy a visor with dedicated pinlock holes, then buy the pinlock insert seperately? What do I do with Fairy - just "wash" the visor in it? ![]() |
